1. Eligibility — minimum age 18
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Flatmatch is not directed to minors and we do not knowingly process data of anyone under 18.
2. Your responsibility for listings and interactions
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of any listing, photo, message, or other content you post, and for how you conduct yourself with other users. Flatmatch is an introduction platform, not a landlord, agent, or party to any rental agreement.
3. Prohibited conduct
- Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent listings.
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or discriminatory conduct.
- Scams, phishing, or requests for money before a documented, in-person meeting and verified rental contract.
- Impersonating another person or misrepresenting identity.
- Publishing content that is illegal under Portuguese or EU law, including short-term lets that violate local licensing rules.
- Abusive, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate content.
- Automated scraping or bulk data extraction.
4. No guarantee of compatibility or housing availability
Compatibility scores are informational only, based on data users voluntarily provide. Flatmatch does not guarantee that any listing is available, that any flatmate is suitable, or that any introduction will result in a rental agreement.
5. Reporting and moderation
You can report profiles, listings, and messages using the in-app tools. We review reports and may remove content or restrict accounts under section 6. We do not commit to a specific response time in this placeholder draft.
6. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, the Community Guidelines, or applicable law. Where possible, we notify the user and allow appeal to hello@flatmatch.pt.
7. Intellectual property
The Flatmatch name, logo, interface, code, and content we produce are owned by the operator. You retain rights to content you post, and grant Flatmatch a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content solely to operate the Service.
8. Service availability
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flatmatch is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory Portuguese or EU consumer law.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law, with jurisdiction of the courts of Tribunal Judicial da Comarca de Lisboa, Portugal, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer.
